A 56yr old man crossing Woodhaven Boulevard at 91st Avenue in Queens was struck by a vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes.
The driver that struck the man then fled the scene. The battered body of the man lay dead on the roadway, some distance from where a pair of khaki colored pants, a black shoe, a black glove and a black backpack can be seen on the ground.
Investigators scoured the area for witnesses and surveillance video in their efforts to piece together what actually happened and to get a lead on the driver or drivers responsible.
As of 9:40AM, A NYPD Spokesperson stated that no one has been arrested and the Investigation is ongoing.
Cops responding to a 911 call of a large fight outside of 280 Henry Street on the Lower East Side in Manhattan on Monday found a 26yr old man with severe slash wounds to his face.
The man, whose clothing was soaked in blood, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. A NYPD Spokesperson later described his condition as ‘stable’.
According to the NYPD, no arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.
Cops responding to a call of an unconscious male outside a building on Bronx Boulevard near East 224th Street in the Bronx on Monday found an unconscious, unresponsive man with a stab wound to his chest.
According to authorities, the 52yr old man was stabbed during a physical altercation with another man. He was rushed to Montefiore Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Cops recovered a large knife in a grassy area near the scene, but it is not clear if this is the murder weapon.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim at this time, pending notifications to family members. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.
A diver from with Fire Department of New York (FDNY) jumped into action on Sunday July 7th to rescue a man who was spotted in the East River near East 30th Street in Manhattan.
The man was placed aboard the FDNY Marine Unit 6 boat and taken to the 34th Street pier where EMS crews were waiting to examine him.
The circumstances relating to how and why the man was in the river is not known at this time.
A 39yr old man riding a Citibike on 5th Avenue near Warren Street in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn was rushed to Methodist Hospital at about 7:40AM, with what was initially reported as severe head injuries, after he collided with a car driven by a 45yr old man on Tuesday.
The Citibike, with its’ front wheel broken off, was observed on the sidewalk.
A NYPD Spokesperson later stated that the bicyclist was in stable condition. It is not clear whether the driver or bicyclist received any Summons.
A man was pronounced dead at a Hospital Monday night after he opened fire on Cops who came to his hotel room in Westchester, New York.
According to witnesses, the man, accompanied by a woman, was staying inside room number 30 at the Ardsley Acres Hotel Court at 560 Saw Mill River Road when all hell broke loose.
A gun battle ensued with multiple rounds fired by the man at the Cops, with Police, some of whom were inside a City of Yonkers Police Emergency Services Unit armored truck, returning fire.
The fierceness of the gun battle was evident on Tuesday morning, with dozens of shell casings marked by evidence cones visible on the ground and atop the armored truck. A hinged circular shaped protective shield on top of the armored truck was seen to have several impact marks from bullets. Also visible were several bullet holes in the brick façade of the Hotel and a shattered window.
At least one Officer was taken to a Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Numerous FBI Agents were observed processing the scene and collecting evidence on Tuesday morning. The Investigation remains ongoing.
A 76yr old man was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital after he was struck by a truck on East 16th Street between 5th Avenue and Union Square West in Manhattan.
James Buzzell, who lived just steps away at number 9 East 16th Street, was struck by the driver of a 2019 Freightliner truck from Fodera Foods that, according to authorities, was in the process of parking the truck.
The driver of the truck remained on the scene and it is unclear whether he faces any charges. The tragic incident is being investigated by Officers from the NYPDs’ Collision Investigation Squad.
A 32yr old construction worker was rushed to New York Methodist Hospital in serious condition after he was found bleeding from a head wound in the sub basement of the Brooklyn Point Building on Willoughby Street near Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.
The building, a 57 story luxury tower, is still under construction and adds to the changed landscape of downtown Brooklyn, which has seen a boom in construction activity with several other new luxury high rise buildings already occupied.
Authorities were unable to say how the man sustained the injury.
A 69yr old man riding his bicycle eastbound on 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn on Monday was rushed to New York University Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition after he was struck and run over by a truck.
The truck, bearing the name Manor Paving, was also traveling eastbound on 3rd Avenue when the driver proceeded to turn right onto 31st Street whereupon he struck the cyclist, who was wearing a safety helmet.
FDNY, NYPD and EMS personnel rushed to the scene and worked feverishly to extricate the man, whose leg was entangled in the warped bicycle. A Tourniquet was applied to the mans’ right leg before he was loaded into a FDNY ambulance and taken expeditiously to the hospital.
The 44yr old driver of the truck remained at the scene and as of today, Friday, there is no indication that he faces any charges. There is also no update on the condition of the cyclist. A NYPD spokesperson stated that the Investigation is still ongoing.
