1yr Old Girl Among Four Dead In Brooklyn Apartment

1yr old Laylay Briggs, her father 27yr old Terrance Briggs, 16yr old Loyd Drain III, and 57yr old Loyd Drain Jr., were found dead with gunshot wounds to the head inside apartment 4M at the Riverdale Towers at 345 Thatford Avenue in Brooklyn on Wednesday.

According to Deputy Chief Michael Kemper, Commander of the Brooklyn North Detective Division, 27yr old Terrance and his 1yr old daughter Laylay were found in one bedroom, 16yr old Loyd Drain III was found in another bedroom and 57yr old Loyd Drain Jr was found in the bathroom.

“It appears all of the deceased are related, either biologically or through marriage” said Kemper. “At this time, we do not have a motive for this incident, but we are working very hard to establish one” Kemper continued. Kemper also stated that a firearm was recovered inside the apartment along with bullets and shell casings. “I just want to give my sympathy and my heart goes out to this family and to the residents of Riverdale Tower, to the Brownsville community” said NYPD Assistant Chief Jeffrey Maddrey, the Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North, “The nature of this business we deal with death and tragic scenes, but when it involves an infant it is extremely tough” he continued. The Investigation into this terrible tragedy remains ongoing.

Fatal Crash Helicopter Lifted From The East River

The United States Army Corp of Engineers, working with the National Transportation Safety Board and NYPD divers, lifted the red Eurocopter Helicopter involved in the multi fatal crash from the East River at the docks at East 23rd Street in Manhattan on Monday March 12, 2018.

Five Dead In East River Helicopter Crash – Pilot Survives

Five people were killed after the helicopter they were in crashed into the East River just north of Roosevelt Island in Manhattan. Only the Pilot of the craft survived. FDNY and NYPD Divers worked feverishly to extricate the trapped victims from the upside down helicopter. Three people were brought to the East 34th Street Ferry Dock with CPR in progress before being rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. The bodies of two deceased victims, pronounced at the scene, were also brought to the East 34th Street Dock. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be spearheading the Investigation into this tragic event.

Driver Who Mowed Down Infant, Toddler, Not Facing Charges – For Now

 4yr old Abigail Blumenstein and 1yr old Joshua Lew died  after they and their mothers were struck by a 44yr old woman driving this white Volvo sedan on 9th Street at 5th Avenue in Brooklyn on Monday March 5, 2018. (Credit: Theodore Parisienne)

The 44yr old driver who caused the deaths of 1yr old Joshua Lew and 4yr old Abigail Blumenstein is not facing charges at this time, according to Police sources. The driver was transported from the scene to a hospital where she remains hospitalized.

According to Police sources, the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is currently working with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles to suspend her Driver License, pending a complete Medical Review.

Police said the Investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.

Mayor de Blasio Addresses Protesters a Day After Tragic Crash

Mayor Bill de Blasio, accompanied by his wife Chirlane McCray, were spotted in Park Slope just one block away from where 1yr old Joshua Lew and 4yr old Abigail Blumenstein were struck and killed by a 44yr old woman driving a white Volvo on 9th Street at 5th Avenue in Brooklyn.

Mayor de Blasio first had breakfast with his wife inside of the Colson Patisserie before heading to the gym across the street, where he spoke with a group of protesters before proceeding to his workout.

Two Toddlers Killed In Horrific Brooklyn Crash

A 4yr old girl and a 1yr boy were pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital after they and two 34yr old women were run over by a 44yr old woman driving a white Volvo sedan on 9th Street at 5th Avenue in Brooklyn.

The Volvo then crashed into several parked vehicles. The two adult female victims, one of whom is reported to be pregnant, were also taken to Methodist Hospital where they were listed in Critical but Stable condition.

It is not clear at this time whether any relationship exists between the adult victims and the deceased children. The driver of the Volvo was taken into custody at the scene.

Man Volunteers At Construction Site – Gets Buried Under Six Feet of Debris

A 33yr old man who volunteered to help remove debris at a construction site belonging to the Church of God of Prophecy at 463 Rutland Road in Brooklyn was seriously injured after the section he was standing on collapsed.

The man fell straight through to the basement level and was buried by approximately six feet of debris.

It took more than one hundred firefighters, with some assistance from a Con Edison crew using a vacuum truck, just over one hour to free him from beneath the rubble.

The injured man was rushed to Kings County Hospital and was expected to survive his harrowing ordeal. It is unclear at this time whether proper permits were in place for work at the site, or whether any violations or Stop Work orders have been issued.

Driver Arrested For DWI After Fatal Crash

35yr old Angel Campana died as a result of this crash on Frederick Douglas Boulevard at West 129th Street in Manhattan on Tuesday February 27, 2018.  (Credit: Theodore Parisienne)

35yr old Angel Campana, who was a passenger in a black Mercedes Benz sedan, died at Harlem Hospital after the 33yr old female driver of the car slammed into the back of a double parked delivery truck northbound on Frederick Douglas Boulevard at West 129th Street in Manhattan.

The driver of the Mercedes then careened across the street and crashed into a tree. The driver was also taken to Harlem Hospital and placed under arrest on charges of Driving While Intoxicated.

NYPD Officer Commits Suicide In Brooklyn

A 24yr old NYPD Officer died from a self inflicted gunshot wound inside of 35 Troutman Street in Brooklyn on Monday February 26, 2018. (Credit: Theodore Parisienne)

A 24yr old female NYPD Officer was pronounced dead on scene after shooting herself in the head inside of 35 Troutman Street in Brooklyn.

The deceased Officer worked with the Department for the last two years. The events that lead to this tragedy are not known at this time. Authorities have not released the name of the deceased Officer at this time, pending proper family notification.

Man Stabbed To Death Outside NYC Shelter

A 21yr old man died at Interfaith Hospital after he was stabbed in the chest outside of a New York City Men’s’ Shelter at 1322 Bedford Avenue near Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. Authorities could not say whether the victim or his attacker are residents of the shelter.

Authorities identified the deceased as 21yr old Miguel Acosta. No Arrests have been made at this time.
