An elderly man who walks with the aid of a Cane was attacked while he was onboard a B46 bus that was northbound on Utica Avenue at Fulton Street in Brooklyn at about 9:10AM on Tuesday.
The attacker, described by witnesses as a much younger man at least six feet tall, was able to flee the bus, making his escape by possibly boarding yet another bus at the busy intersection, according to witnesses.
The victim suffered a head wound in the attack and his clothing was visibly covered with blood.
Initial reports indicated the victim was stabbed, but it remains unclear at this time what was actually used to inflict the wound.
The attacker is still on the lam and is actively being sought by Cops.
A 59yr old man, an employee of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, died on the job today inside the College Point Bus Depot on 28th Avenue in Queens.
The tragedy occurred when a bus driver, backing up her bus, struck him as he performed his duties. Emergency Medical Service personnel and First Responders rushed to the scene, but the man could not be saved. It is unclear whether the driver faces any charges. The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad will determine the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
Long Island Rail Road service was disrupted after a man was struck and killed by the 5:08 train, heading from Speonk to Penn Station, at the Baldwin Station on Brooklyn Avenue at Grand Avenue in Nassau County.
